After mistakenly mishandling a case and forgetting his client’s name, Matlock decides to retire from his legal career. He leaves town for some fishing, seeking peace and relaxation. However, when a hitchhiker he picked up suddenly dies under suspicious circumstances, Matlock feels compelled to stay and delve into the mystery surrounding the incident.
