Work kicks off at Kirkside as Tom Silva and his team start tearing off the old asphalt shingles. Our host chats with Tom and the master carpenter about roof ventilation and drip edges. Later, he meets with Greg Clancy, an architectural conservator, to delve into the house's history. Using an architectural model, Greg and Chris Hagger ponder the extent of the restoration needed. In the meantime, a percolation test has been conducted to pinpoint the ideal location for the new septic system.
