S15E19 The Honolulu House - 1

Feb 03, 1994 Season 15 Episode 19 Documentary, Reality

Episode Overview

The crew arrives in Honolulu, Hawaii, ready to kick off an eight-show series focused on the renovation and expansion of Christiane Bintliff's charming bungalow by the ocean, originally built in the 1930s. This historic home is situated on land granted to her great-great-great-grandfather by King Kamehameha III for his service as an admiral in the royal navy. Despite some visible termite issues and outdated systems, Christiane is committed to preserving this classic island residence. Meanwhile, our master carpenter travels to the secluded island of Molokai to explore the recently restored church of Father Damien, completed by Ching Construction, while our host checks out an impressive renovation of a coastal home designed by architect Norm Lacayo. To kick off the project, the job site receives a blessing from Hawaiian minister Reverend Abraham Akaka.
