This Old House (1979)
S16E15 The Acton House - 15
Episode Overview
We catch up with Jeff Hosking as he fits the reclaimed floorboards he salvaged from a yard in New Hampshire. He talks about the difficulties of working with this type of wood and demonstrates a stationary double-drum sander, carefully smoothing out the boards' rough edges. Meanwhile, upstairs, Joe Ferrante is busy applying a tinted grout to the slate tiles in the master bathroom. In the dining room, homeowner Terry Maitland, inspired by a nearby house, decides to remove the plaster ceiling, hoping to uncover original beams and joists. Unfortunately, the discovery isn’t as appealing as he hoped. On a brighter note, the team constructs an entryway that reflects the historical accuracy of the home back at the workshop, and a new lightning protection system is installed on the building.
