Episode Overview
In the final days of the project, we find the telephone company installing a new multipair line, clearing the west gable of overhead wires. Landscape architect Tom Wirth creates a mockup to assist Terry Maitland in determining the best location for the old milk house. Jeff Hosking demonstrates how he refinished the aged pine floors to achieve a warm amber glow. Lighting designer Melissa Guenet showcases her selection of traditional and recessed lighting fixtures, including incandescent and halogen options, for the updated spaces. Upstairs, Paul Kennedy installs a paddle fan in the master bedroom’s cathedral ceiling, while the crew discusses lingering issues the Maitlands will need to address, such as sills, drainage, and an unsafe outbuilding. Richard Trethewey guides us through the final plumbing checks in the basement and bathrooms, and interior designer Judy George reveals the beautifully decorated rooms.
