This Old House (1979)
S16E09 The Acton House - 9
Episode Overview
While considering the installation of new windows in the historic building, our master carpenter suggests that it may be wiser to replace the old, worn clapboards on the front instead of trimming each window around them. On the less weathered west side of the house, the team demonstrates the process of installing a replacement window while keeping the original clapboards intact. We also see the deleading crew at work, carefully stripping lead paint from the original structure. Meanwhile, Richard Trethewey oversees the installation of the well pump and tank and pays a visit to a lab for water testing.
