This Old House (1979)
S17E06 The Salem House - 6
Episode Overview
The team adds blown cellulose insulation to the outside wall of the children's bathroom. Tom Silva introduces a paint-on bathtub protector that can be easily removed once the work is finished. We meet roofer James Shea, who presents three repair options and their costs for the slate roof. Since the roof is visible from the street, the Historical Commission must approve one of the choices: repairing the slate, replacing the rear hip with fiberglass shingles, or switching to artificial slate. Then, we head to Frankfurt, Germany, to explore ISH, the largest plumbing and heating trade show in the world. Back in the bathroom, the crew installs drywall using a fast-setting joint compound.
