Dr. Tim Lepore, the island's foremost expert on tick-borne illnesses like Lyme disease and babesiosis, shares insights about their prevalence in the area and offers tips on prevention. Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the installation of restored Victorian double doors at the house. Inside, Richard Trethewey showcases the new metal ductwork designed for effective heating and cooling. He also takes us to the metalworking shop. Outside, we learn about sidewall shingling using Eastern white cedar, a favored material on Nantucket. A visit to the Nantucket dump reveals its growing capacity issues, as supervisor Jeff Willet discusses the recycling facility aimed at easing the landfill's burden. Back at the house, Bruce Killen and his team work on the front door roof, install the double doors, and evaluate the look of the brackets at the newly restored entrance.
