This Old House (1979)
S19E10 The Milton House - 10
Episode Overview
Richard Trethewey visits a site where a new gas line is being installed and old oil tanks are being removed, thanks to a gas company initiative. Coppersmith Larry Stearns showcases a stunning copper weathervane he crafted for the new workshop's cupola, which he and the master carpenter are now installing on the roof. Arborist Matt Foti and his team clear the area for the new driveway while also tidying up the mess left by an unexpected spring snowstorm. We get a glimpse of the newly studded master bathroom and observe the installation of a modern retractable screen system at the workshop's French doors. Excavation contractor Herb Brockert shares his progress on the driveway and voices his worries about proper drainage for the site. Lastly, paint expert Andrea Gilmore reveals her findings on the house's exterior history: an astonishing 16 layers of paint, with the last eight being white, and earlier colors ranging from the original dark brown with red trim to a putty shade.
