This Old House (1979)
S19E15 The Milton House - 15
Episode Overview
The finishing touches are underway at the Milton project. Painter John Dee is applying shellac and wax to the stripped old-growth white pine on the front wall, giving it a similar appearance to the adjacent parlor. The crew carefully maneuvers a crane to lift a hefty 490-pound soaking tub through the master bathroom window, showcasing its craftsmanship from a Wisconsin foundry. Meanwhile, the Ferrante brothers are busy prepping 16 x 16 limestone tiles for the bathroom floor with a wet saw. Outside, our host speaks with a termite exterminator using insect growth hormone bait to eradicate subterranean colonies. Upstairs, HVAC contractor Ken Winchester introduces us to an essential air-to-air heat exchanger, which helps circulate fresh air while expelling stale, damp air. In the courtyard, a new iron fountain has arrived, and the team adds the final touches to a green lattice cedar fence. We also meet Glenn Bowman, who is busy cutting and installing soapstone countertops.
