This Old House (1979)
S23E14 The Manchester House - 14
Episode Overview
The master carpenter inspects the repairs made to the problematic east chimney by specialist Mark Schaub and his team. The game room's fireplace is now bricked over, while the guest room above features a brand new hearth, firebox, and gas "coal grate." Richard Trethewey demonstrates to Steve how he’s using an old airhandler to deliver dry, clean heat temporarily on-site and outlines his plans for the home's heating and cooling system, which includes radiant floor heating on the first level and flat-panel radiators on the second and third floors, with air conditioning in select areas. Meanwhile, Steve finds Roger Cook in the backyard, where his request to cut down trees near the ocean was denied by the Conservation Commission, though he is permitted to trim them for a better view. In the auto court, Roger shows Steve how he curves 2-inch thick granite. Later, Steve and homeowner Janet McCue visit a garden shop to explore various paving options before she decides on materials for her landscaping. Back
