This Old House (1979)
S23E18 The Manchester House - 18
Episode Overview
The new spa arrives on a truck and is set up on a concrete slab. After being plugged in and filled with water, it quickly opens for business. Tom starts to install the stunning wooden portico columns, cleverly using a jig to create two engaged columns against the house. Meanwhile, our master carpenter makes a trip to Alcott House in Concord, Massachusetts, the historic home of Louisa May Alcott and her transcendentalist father, Bronson. This site attracts thousands of visitors, making its preservation a challenging but essential task. Back at the house, our master carpenter assists former TOH homeowner Dick Silva in adding period-appropriate trim to one of the windows.
