Homeowner Liz Bagley diligently strips paint from her front door trim while general contractor Tom Silva crafts a wood inlay to repair her kitchen floor, utilizing materials repurposed from other areas of the house. Plumbing and heating specialist Richard Trethewey guides host Kevin O'Connor through the basement, showcasing the new boiler designed for the first-floor unit. Kevin then explores Boston Symphony Hall, where custom milled maple and steel cut nails are being used to replace the century-old stage floor, preserving the hall's famed acoustics. Tom also demonstrates how he's creating custom PVC moldings for a window in the second-floor bathroom, which is at risk of water damage due to its location in a shower well.
