Episode Overview
In this episode, host Kevin O'Connor visits Piers Park, a scenic waterfront area in East Boston that provides residents with access to sailing lessons for local youth. Homeowners Chris Flynn and Liz Bagley begin packing their belongings into a portable storage unit to facilitate renovation work while they still reside in the house. Liz teams up with general contractor Tom Silva to excavate footing holes for her new deck using a compact utility loader. To combat weather effects, Tom employs a durable one-piece ultra high-density polyethylene footing form. Fire inspector Bill Honen assists Kevin in finding the placement for new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, while master electrician Allen Gallant takes care of the installation. Meanwhile, masonry contractor Mark McCullough works on repairing the deteriorating stucco on the home's exterior.
