Episode Overview

Master carpenter Norm Abram meets with general contractor David Lopes to assess the renovations on the house. They discover significant framing has been completed, but much of the structure had to be reconstructed due to its poor condition. Meanwhile, a concrete truck arrives to lay the foundation for the new front entry, which is among the final areas to be reframed. On the mansard roof, David demonstrates the installation of architectural shingles designed to mimic the original slate. A few days later, energy-efficient vinyl windows are in place, and exterior PVC trim work is ongoing. Host Kevin O'Connor checks in with carpenter Ed Curet as he works on the new pre-primed, pre-painted siding, which streamlines the process and reduces costs.
