Meanwhile, Tommy's excavation team is busy replacing the outdated steel main water line at the house's front. Kevin observes mason Mark McCullough skillfully laying bricks for the new porch piers. He then spots Tommy pouring a concrete "rat slab" to safeguard the mudroom from moisture and pests. Later, Richard visits a tile showroom where homeowner Katherine and designer Amanda Reid finalize their choices for the bathrooms.
