Clair is outraged when Theo presents a report card filled with four D's. He confides in Cliff that college isn't in his plans, believing he's meant to be just an "ordinary guy." In response, Cliff employs Monopoly money to illustrate the financial challenges faced by many working-class individuals. He emphasizes that he simply wants Theo to put forth his best effort. Meanwhile, Cliff is taken aback when he meets Denise's new boyfriend, a former merchant marine with a past that includes time spent in a Turkish prison.
