Episode Overview

Maxwell's dad visits, prompting Fran to attempt to reconcile the Sheffield family by inviting James Sheffield for dinner. He arrives with Joan, his former secretary and the reason for his split from Max's mother. During the meal, Maxwell is furious at his father's blatant disregard for family feelings, while Fran can't help but question why Maxwell doesn’t emulate his father's boldness and consider marrying someone from a lower social standing.
