Midnight Diner (2009)

Episode Overview

Shirley purchases a cuckoo clock for $29 from a nearby department store and puts it on her account. However, when the bill comes, it shows a charge of $290. Confused, she visits the store and discovers that their new automated system has made a mistake. The employee corrects it, but when the revised bill arrives, it now states she owes $2900. Frustrated, Shirley decides to close her store account. Later, she receives a call from a collection agency claiming she owes the department store $29,000, and her other service providers, like her grocery store and plumber, are being notified about her financial troubles.
