On December 5, 1945, five American torpedo bombers on a WW2 mission left Florida, only to vanish without a trace. Hours later, a search plane sent to locate them also disappeared, believed to have succumbed to the notorious Bermuda Triangle. In total, 27 men were lost that day, and 75 years later, their fate remains a haunting enigma. Despite the Bermuda Triangle being responsible for the disappearance of over 1,000 ships and planes, no vessel has ever explored its profound depths—until now. The late Paul Allen's advanced research ship, R/V Petrel, will utilize state-of-the-art technology, including deep-diving subs, to delve three miles underwater in hopes of uncovering the truth behind the lost squadron and the legend of the Bermuda Triangle.
