After taking Ralph's advice, Norton finds himself out of work and begins a door-to-door steam iron sales venture. Meanwhile, Ed fibs about his earnings to spare the Kramdens from feeling sorry for him. Inspired by Ed's deception, Ralph starts to contemplate joining Norton in the steam iron sales business.
