Edina is far from thrilled about turning 40. Instead of the glamorous surprise bash she envisioned, she finds herself facing a low-key lunch organized by Saffron, featuring family and friends—including her two ex-husbands, Justin and Marshall, along with their new partners, Oliver and Bo, plus Patsy and Mother. As the gathering unfolds, Edina oscillates between self-loathing and bitterness, ultimately driving Oliver, her least favorite guest, to storm out in anger. Meanwhile, Justin and Marshall are taken aback to learn they’ve both been supporting Edina with alimony. Amidst the chaos, Edina and Patsy drunkenly belt out tunes on a karaoke machine, while Justin and Bo secretly scheme to end Edina's financial support.
