In the dead of night, a white van speeds through Halifax, evading capture by the police in a tense chase that ends in tragedy. Meanwhile, Sophie discovers a couple, a drunken driver and his girlfriend, stranded on a motorway embankment after they’ve fled their vehicle. In another part of the city, Clarkie is compelled to deploy pepper spray when a driver vanishes into the nearby underbrush, heightening the drama of the night’s events.
