Disregarding his classmate's warnings, Ernie decides to use the unsuspecting Douglas family for a psychology project given by his teacher. He shortens Uncle Charley's cane, hoping to convince him that he’s getting taller. However, Ernie quickly realizes that his father, Steve, isn't as easily fooled.
