Episode Overview
Title: Reunion of Mother and Son Plot: Romeo's mother arrives from New York with surprising news: she intends to leave her husband and start anew in Chicago. At the same time, Regina subtly expresses her desire for a celebration to mark her decade-long tenure as principal of Booker T. In response to Regina's hints, the staff and students organize a surprise party. Lydia struggles to gather contributions, leading Steve to hand over the responsibility to Coretta. As Lovita works on decorations and catering, Cedric assures that he will get Regina to the party on time. When Romeo's mother unexpectedly needs accommodation, Cedric and Lovita urge her to stay with Steve. Though Steve hopes for a reconciliation between Carmen and her husband, she is set on her decision to remain in Chicago despite Romeo's mixed feelings.
