A disgraced former prison doctor, Mathew Kendel, is brought to the Cannon ranch by lawman Tad Garnet as he faces charges of malpractice and causing the deaths of inmates. When Victoria's health takes a dire turn, John Cannon finds himself in a desperate situation, needing to approach the reluctant Kendel for assistance in saving his wife's life. Despite Kendel's bitterness from his past, John has no other options left as he fights to save Victoria from the brink of death.
