Episode Overview

Joe, the foreman at Cannon Ranch, contemplates resigning due to John Cannon's skepticism about a new hire. However, he soon discovers that John's concerns were justified. With a cattle drive approaching, Joe brings in drifter Jelks, whose demeanor raises doubts for John. Tensions rise between John and Joe over the new employee, but Jelks unexpectedly clears the air by demonstrating that one of them was mistaken in their judgment.
