The High Chaparral (1967)

Episode Overview

In need of a break from the demanding ranch life, Buck decides to escape during the wild Fourth of July festivities, heading to the rough-and-tumble town of Spokes. Shortly after he arrives in this lawless place controlled by the tough China Pierce, Buck finds himself witnessing a shootout in a saloon, where Pierce's son Bud is killed by Jones, an isolated trapper who is gravely injured. Despite the fight being fair, the fearful townsfolk refuse to assist Jones, prompting Buck to step in and offer his help while preparing for the inevitable showdown with Pierce.
