Levison Wood embarks on the next leg of his remarkable 650-mile trek, tracking the annual journey of Botswana's vast herd of 130,000 elephants, and encounters his most daunting obstacles yet. Accompanied by his guide Kane, Lev navigates the route traversed by the male elephants, crossing the expansive salt flats of the Makgadikgadi and passing through the town of Gweta, ultimately reaching the fringes of the Okavango Delta. Along the way, he has a tense moment as he nearly finds himself trapped by anxious bull elephants, but later revels in the breathtaking sight of the same herd as they gather to drink at a waterhole.
