Gimme a Break! (1981)

Episode Overview

Samantha stands up against the demolition of a historic Spanish landmark after Nell shares her own experience protesting in Alabama for racial equality. When the chief and Officer Simpson show up, the crowd remains steadfast, resulting in the arrest of everyone present, including the Kanisky family, who join Samantha in her fight. Ultimately, the site is preserved from destruction, but tensions linger as the community remains upset with the chief for taking action. They eventually come to understand that he was simply fulfilling his duties.
