Gimme a Break! (1981)

Episode Overview

During dinner at Skipper Dwayne's, Addy discovers that her car is being towed just as Nell is approached by a creep who wants to ask her out. A man sitting nearby intervenes, telling the sleazeball to back off, and he ends up whisking Nell away. When this man later shows up at Addy’s home, she is stunned to realize he is her estranged father, who abandoned her and her mother when she was young. Addy is adamant that Nell should not date him, given his past. Ultimately, Nell invites Addy to dinner, where her father is present, and as Nell performs “People,” Addy contemplates giving her father another chance.
