Episode Overview
Nell makes the bold decision to leave college behind and chase her dream of a singing career. She takes on the role of manager for an ex-con who penned a song while incarcerated and is eager to bring it to life. At Skipper Dwane's amateur night, where they plan to perform, Nell spots Gary Collins in the audience. When she asks for his opinion on the song, he admits he disliked it during the ex-con's performance, but insists that Nell should appear on his hour magazine show after hearing her rendition. After the show, Nell rushes backstage to give the ex-con feedback, but panics when she sees him with dental floss, mistaking it for a weapon. She fears he might harm her because of Gary’s negative reaction to his song.
