A thrilled Mad Jack bursts into Adams' cabin while Adams and Nakoma are busy repairing the roof. He excitedly shares that he encountered an Army Corporal who claimed the government plans to reward all the animals on the mountain. Adams is taken aback and quickly tells them the truth—it's a scam, and that the so-called corporal is really a bounty hunter.
