Lois loses her temper when she discovers a secret 15 percent surcharge on the bill at their beloved pizza joint, prompting her to organize a boycott. Meanwhile, Hal and the boys are secretly enjoying slices behind her back. Malcolm is captivated by Angela and her smart family, but feels guilty for having asked another girl to the school dance, leading him to awkwardly end things with her—or rather, them. On another front, Francis is hesitant about Otto bringing in an assistant to help him, but eventually warms up to the idea.
