While the Royal's charity ball is being organized, Ken Hopkirk steps in to help the band after their van breaks down on the way. At the same time, Dr. Weatherill endures a difficult situation when one of her patients learns she has syphilis. Meanwhile, Dr. Ormerod comes to terms with his wife's grim prognosis as it becomes clear she will not wake from her coma, prompting him to consider moving forward with his life.
