Episode Overview
As Kyle's 30th birthday looms, he becomes increasingly grumpy. Encouraged by her friends, Max decides to surprise him with a party, but he initially resists and reluctantly joins in on a game of Barnyard Twister. Unfortunately, he injures his back and storms off, feeling humiliated. Later, Max finds him moping at the laundromat and asks what's bothering him. Kyle opens up about his sense of failure regarding his career, lamenting that he feels stagnant after once being a prodigy. Max reassures him that aging has its perks, pointing out how he has matured since their early days. She playfully offers herself as a birthday gift, prompting a chuckle from Kyle as he calls her "sweet and cheap." Meanwhile, Synclaire fills their home with plants, but after just two days, they all die. Khadijah jokes that Synclaire's excessive care led to their "planticide."
