Feeling left out when her friends exclude her from their Saturday night activities, Regine decides to take her mother out for dinner instead. At the restaurant, Laverne strikes up a connection with a charming man who helps her with her napkin, revealing himself to be wealthy millionaire Harrison Cushmore. Regine soon grows frustrated with her mother’s newfound attention in the society pages and predicts that Harrison will soon move on. She’s proven right, but initially hesitates to comfort Laverne until Khadijah reminds her of her selfishness. Laverne, however, brushes it off, insisting that losing a man isn't worth getting upset over. Meanwhile, Overton acquires a Lincoln town car at a police auction after his van breaks down, but Synclaire insists he get rid of it when Max informs them that the car was involved in a mobster's death.
