Episode Overview

Dwayne and Ron set their sights on renting a stunning apartment for the upcoming school year. However, when Ron's father reduces his allowance due to poor grades, they find themselves unable to afford it. Instead, they settle for a run-down place managed by Velma Gaines. To make the best of their situation, they host a housewarming party and convince themselves their new home can work. Meanwhile, Walter anticipates a carefree summer until Jaleesa reveals her promotion, allowing her to visit more frequently. They decide to take some time apart to explore their independence. Whitley intends to spend her summer working at a museum but feels torn, wishing to join her mother on a cruise instead. Dwayne encourages her to enjoy life, reminding her there will be plenty of time for responsibility later on. Amidst all this, Dwayne and Whitley find themselves developing feelings for one another.
