Episode Overview
On the very first day of class, Dwayne surprises his calculus students with a graded quiz, despite having yet to teach them. He proposes daily tests and requires the students to sign contracts committing to extra study hours. Frustrated, Lena rips up her contract and spearheads a walk-out. Col. Taylor warns Dwayne he risks termination unless he can reach an agreement with the students. Eventually, Dwayne concedes to more realistic expectations, emphasizing his desire for the class to achieve greatness. Meanwhile, Ron attends a funeral of a professor he never met to secure Washington Bullets season tickets from the grieving widow. Dwayne also annoys Whitley by taking a portion of their shared account to buy a ticket. Col. Taylor encourages Jaleesa to launch her temp agency from home, while Freddie struggles to find a job that aligns with her ethical beliefs.
