Whitley becomes increasingly anxious about the wedding plans, especially with the engagement party approaching, where her parents will reunite for the first time since their separation. She vents her frustrations and becomes overly demanding of Dwayne. Confiding in Ron, Dwayne reveals his doubts about being ready for marriage. During a faculty gathering, he accidentally drenches Whitley with a drink, prompting her to lash out and storm off. Later, he finds himself captivated by a charismatic science professor from Avery. Despite Ron's concerns about jeopardizing his future, Dwayne insists he is just friends with her. Kim, out with friends, spots Dwayne and Lisa holding hands and confronts him, agreeing to keep it under wraps. Dwayne eventually comes clean to Whitley. Meanwhile, Freddie embarks on a romantic relationship with Shazza, who she believes has transformed after a summer trip to Africa, and tries to keep this new romance hidden from Kim.
