Episode Overview

Freddie's unconventional mother drops by, irritating Freddie by dedicating her time to advising her friends. This leads to Kim's jealousy over Freddie's romance with Ron being revealed. The arrival of Joni leaves Freddie feeling lost, while it stirs up past emotions for Shazza. Ron witnesses Shazza sharing a kiss with Freddie outside the Pit. Meanwhile, Whitley takes on a job at the International Cottage of Flapjacks to save up for Dwayne's Christmas gift, but becomes overwhelmed without help from the owner's unmotivated daughter. When Freddie confronts her mother at ICOF for guidance, Joni shares her parenting philosophy, rooted in avoiding her own mother's judgment about her interracial relationship. Ron then urges Freddie to make a decision about their relationship, leading her to embrace him just as Whitley starts singing loudly. Unfortunately, Whitley is let go from her job on her first day, but Dwayne offers her comfort.
