A strange string of fatalities among government officials draws Steed and his team into a troubling investigation when a close friend of Steed's becomes one of the victims. As the case unfolds, it becomes clear that an unscrupulous organization is involved in duplicating people, raising suspicions all around. Steed, Purdey, and Gambit each pursue leads independently, making headway in their own ways. However, the complexity of the situation proves overwhelming for them to tackle solo. They must unite and swiftly determine who is who and what is really happening before they become the next victims.
