Mitch's brother Buzzy arrives for a visit, bringing along his estranged son Kyle, who quickly shows himself to be a negative influence on Hobie. When Kyle decides to surf illegally at the hazardous San Dimas Pier, he crashes into an underwater piling and ends up submerged and unconscious.
