On a sweltering summer day marked by drought, Logan feels a pang of jealousy as Cody flirts with Caroline during and after their rescue efforts. Meanwhile, Neely is eager to leave her switchboard duties behind and pursue a role as a tower lifeguard, prompting Stephanie to step in and discourage her. Kaye enlists Hobie's help to volunteer with a group of four blind children from a local school. However, the situation escalates when a massive brush fire, ignited by hazardous chemicals, ensnares Hobie and the children in the hills, leaving Mitch as their only hope for rescue.
