Episode Overview

After saving a group of fishermen and tourists from a massive pier blaze, Samantha teams up with Captain Huntingdon, the fire chief, to create a rescue firefighting squad called the Search and Rescue Unit, made up of six lifeguards and firefighters. Cody, Neely, Jordan, and Newman audition for the unit and meet their firefighting partners. Their abilities are quickly put to the test when the newly formed team, including Cody, Neely, Catalina lifeguard Rick Jenner, and firefighters Jessica, Clay, and Terry, is dispatched on their inaugural mission to rescue two men trapped in a flooded basement of a burned-down building.
