Up the Women (2013)

Overview

In 1910, the Banbury church hall hosts the Banbury Intricate Craft Circle, where Margaret returns from London inspired by the Women's Suffrage movement. Eager to make a difference, she proposes they start their own branch, transforming the group into the rather comical Banbury Intricate Craft Circle that politely requests women's suffrage. Among the members, Gwen is the only one who truly enjoys the crafting aspect of their gatherings, while Helen dismisses the need for it altogether, questioning, "What do women need the vote for? My husband votes based on my suggestions. What could be better than that?"
