S03E01 The Long Chase
Episode Overview
A farmer sees the two boys and informs the sheriff, prompting Heyes and the Kid to hop on a train and escape. Onboard, they encounter Harry Briscoe, who has just been let go from Bannerman Detectives Inc. As the posse sends a telegram ahead, Heyes quickly brings Harry back on board, making the boys his captives. However, the sheriff isn’t convinced and sends a deputy to ensure they reach Wyoming. Harry cleverly tricks the deputy into thinking the Devil's Hole gang is pursuing them, using him as a decoy while he and his prisoners take an alternate route. When the Kid's new horse gets hurt, they have to catch another train, but it unfortunately heads back to their starting point. Deciding to jump off, they wait for Harry, who hopes the sheriff won’t fall for the same ruse again. But will Harry’s gamble pay off, and can Heyes and the Kid hold out until he arrives?
