Title: Five Cranks for Winter... Ten Cranks for Spring Plot: Johnny Meigs, a once-promising fighter struggling to make ends meet after a brain injury, desperately seeks to return to the boxing world. His motivation? To earn enough money to secretly support his wife Kathy's participation in a floral competition in Baltimore. Meanwhile, scheming boxing manager Gus Slate arranges for a washed-up, inebriated doctor to provide Johnny with a quick and dubious physical examination.
