As the lockdown comes to an end, the Muslim community in Oz selects Arif to lead them following Hamid Khan's removal from life support. Cyril is haunted by nightmares of the moment he struck Khan in their boxing match, prompting Ryan to seek Sister Pete's help. In response to a recent suicide, Murphy proposes a plan to alleviate the tension in solitary confinement. Father Mukada inspires Beecher with a clever strategy to confront Schillinger. Meanwhile, Shirley Bellinger awaits her execution date, and new inmate Mobay raises Hill's suspicions right away. Governor Devlin extends an invitation to Glynn to join him as his running mate for re-election. McManus learns that Wittlesey has yet to return from vacation, while a violent shootout in Oz leaves four dead.
