Episode Overview

Medicine Bow faces turmoil when a group of settlers claims land they believe has been allocated to them, despite Judge Garth and others having leased it from the government for cattle grazing. The settlement initiative is backed by Congressman Matt Cosgrove (James Dunn), who studied law with the Judge three decades earlier. Although the Judge knows the land is unsuitable for farming, he’s confronted with government reports suggesting otherwise. As tensions rise between the Judge and Cosgrove, a budding romance develops between Cosgrove’s nephew, Army Lt. David O'Mara (Martin West), and Betsy Garth.
